made out of placemats?!?!? What creative mind to come up with
that one? Although we can't take credit for the original idea....we worked tirelessly to perfect our version of Placemat Purses. And that was the beginning of Basement
Bags. Three years into this adventure, we are amazed at how we have grown and
changed! Although we have added many new items, purses are still our main attraction. Each purse is
custom designed and individually stitched, when ordered, in our
basement. Our work space is smoke and pet free. We use the highest quality cotton ribbed and
linen placemats, fantastic fabrics, the best grosgrain ribbons, fancy
fringes, durable bamboo and plastic handles, and wonderful coordinated linings for our purses. To make our purses even more appealing, most can be
monogrammed to your specifications. Our goal is to give our
customers a completely unique, fun purse of extraordinary
quality at a price so reasonable you will want one to match
every outfit! We are excited to have expanded our inventory to include
personalized cosmetic bags, key fobs, slippers and fun acrylic items. With the arrival of grandchildren came the addition of Basement Babies. We just can't get enough of the adorable baby stuff! New items are added often as we strive to give you, our valued
friends, more options.

a family endeavor. I am a full time teacher and contribute over 30 years of sewing experience. I single-handedly process orders after school and on the weekends. My
husband is our brilliant web master and our four daughters assist with design approval, marketing and 'profit sharing'. We truly are a mom & pop business...everything is made from 'scratch' in the basement. Thanks
